ABOUT THE IS IT HUNGER (OR IS IT A HOLE?) EP
In the spring of 2022 I started writing and recording songs with the explicit goal of releasing an EP, for the first time in a long while. There was no preconceived plan or concept, besides the strong urge to make music to my full capacity again, and to share it with a wider audience this time around. So I just started recording, on my own and at home, what my head and/or hands came up with naturally – free to play as I pleased, not bound by any genre but my own. This feeling of freedom is reflected in the variety of the tracks, from haunting indie rock to more cinematic explorations, and yet they are tied together by the particular, somewhat melancholic tone and style of both my music and lyrics.
The title Is It Hunger (Or Is It A Hole?) is a phrase that popped in my head right before I went to sleep one night. I liked the sound of it, so I wrote it down, although I didn’t quite know what to make of it. Then one day, it perfectly fit a song I wrote, and I knew what it was about: that strange urge to make or pursue something, just because you feel you must. That, I thought, fits my first serious music release in years quite well. I hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as I did!
